Q: Maybe I don't want to modify my car. Can I still race it?

A: YES! A different sport, called Autocross, is perfectly suited for racing the same car you drive to work in. Around my area, contact the Tarheel Sports Car Club.

Q: Yeah, but isn't Autcross on pavement?

A: Yes it is, but it is the most widespread and available form of amateur racing for unmodified cars. There is an off road version of Autocross, called RallyCross. Again, there are categories for completely stock cars to race in, and with any sanity, you won't damage your car. In my area, I would recommend the DC Region for information. However, you will need to do more searching for these events, as they aren't as common. But they are loads of fun!

Q: Is the SCCA involved in this too?

A: Yes, you can find out more information about both of these at the SCCA web site. The SCCA will call Autocross "Solo II".
